Jeremy has set-up a Wedding album of the best photos that he took of the wedding.

Here is a great photo of how the garden was set-up for the Wedding.

December 8th, 2007

The Wedding went well. The weather was fantastic - warm and sunny. The tent, tables, chairs, caterers and lighting all arrived on time. My brother Michael and Jeremy decided to make the event fun by playing with the music choices. Simon, Michael and Mike, the best man stand-in, all walked up the aisle to Darth Vader's theme from Star Wars. I came down from the house to Joss Stone's "Some Kind of Wonderful". The music changed to the Wedding music as I came to the aisle and then turned into Chariots of Fire half way along. Here are some photos after the wedding. Photos taken by Stacy Grant.

Here are some photos of the cakes and table arrangements and finally the lighting. Photos taken by Heidi Amos-White

The Bride's cake - lemon with raspberry filling.

The groom's cake - fruit cake. The gold leaf and cedar tree on top is a Bermudian tradition. We will plant the tree to signify our love and life together.

The centre peices done by my Aunt Deanna. All flowers done by Deanna, Sacha, Sandra and Cindy.

Lighting by John Wadell and lights donated by Vivienne Lochhead.

A Message to Our Guests

Thank you to all those who will be attending the Wedding on December 8th. To those who can't make it, you will be missing out. If you have not responded, please do asap to John Parsons (jparson@ibl.bm, 1 441 292 2693).

I am also pleased to see so many of you using the website. It is the easiest way to get the information needed out there. We would like to encourage guests to keep checking the website for changes.

We would also like to encourage guests to bring cameras as there will not be an official photographer; just some friends who know what they are doing.

Let's hope for great weather!

Overview

It all started with a discussion in May and was followed by a proposal in July.

We decided not too wait as this is what we both want. We decided against an Engagement Party and a House Warming Party so we can all celebrate at the Wedding instead.

The Wedding will take place on December 8th, 2007 at Rachel's home in Bermuda.

We are also having a Blessing in the UK for our UK family on January 4th, 2008.

Wedding

The Wedding will be held at "Edelweiss", 80, Middle Rd. Smith's. It will be officiated by Rev Thomas Andersen from the Peace Lutheran church.

We are hoping to have it in the garden if weather permits and there is a back up plan. We have changed the location to the field so it will be nearer the tent.

We are trying to keep the wedding small and adult friendly. We hope you understand.

Please RSVP to John Parsons (441) 292 2693 or jparson@ibl.bm before December 1st, 2008.
Invites were designed by Jeremy Willmott and printed by Bermuda Blue Printing

Reception

The Reception will be held at "Edelweiss", 80, Middle Rd. Smith's. It will take place in a heated tent for those worried about the cold. The tent will have sides to deal with any downpour so the weather will not dampen the event.

Here is a photo of the main house.

Here is where the tent will be located now that the grass has grown.

The reception will take place in the field below the house. Flying Chef is doing the catering. We will be catering for vegetarians and vegans.

We are encouraging guests to head to the reception tent after the Wedding. There they can get appetizers and drinks including Mark's Rum Swizzle. Then wonder up to the new apartment and have a look around.

Registry

We are not expecting gifts but do realise that guests might wish to celebrate in this way. Please feel free to do whatever you had in mind.

We have registries at Gibbons and Aberfeldy. Most of the items have been purchased already but gift certificates are always welcome.

Christmas Walkabout

The Bermuda National Trust puts on a Christmas Walkabout in the historic town of St. George's. This year it will be held on Friday, December 7th from 6-8pm. The Bride will be heading there and hope to join guests for drinks afterwards provided we can get into a establishment.

Dress Code

The dress code will be smart casual.

Simon would like to let the men know that jacket and tie are optional except for the wedding party.

Rachel would like to request no jeans.

Parking

Parking will be available from 3pm on Flatts cricket field located on Fielder's Lane in Flatts, Smith's.

We will be allowing cars to enter the old driveway in order to drop off people and exit through the new entrance onto the side driveway. The cricket field is the first right once you get back on Middle Rd (about 10 feet away). It shares a drive with two houses so take the left hand side. Fielder's lane is sign posted.

Places to Eat

Rustico Restaurant is in Flatts Village and is a great place to eat especially if you are staying at Brightside Apartments.

Another group of restaurants that we are partial to are the Hog Penny, Barracuda and Pickled Onion.

Or check out the selection at http://www.bermuda.com/dining/

Bike Rentals and Tourist Information

Wheels and Oleander Cycles have websites with all the information that you need.

For more information on Bermuda check out http://www.bermuda.com/transportation/scooterrentals

Other means of travel are the ferries and buses. Information can be found at http://www.bermuda.com/transportation/ or http://bermuda-guide.info/getting.around/buses/ or once arriving in the phone book.

Places to stay

Brightside Apartments is very close to my house where the wedding and reception will take palce. It is about a 2 mins walk away in Flatts Village.

They know about the wedding and said it was best to call for a booking. They have a range of rooms and apartments to rent and seem very flexible. At the moment they are wide open but they can book up quickly. Their rates are very affordable and thus no special rates can be offered.

Another choice is to rent a cottage nearby. Bermuda Rentals is a great website. They have a 2 bedroom apartment in the Flatts area for rent. Most of you are familiar with Bermuda but those who are not, the wedding will take place in Smith's near Flatts Village. Neighbouring parishes are Devonshire and Hamilton Parishes. Ideal rentals or B&B are in the Harrington Sound or Flatts Area. However, if you rent a bike, you can venture further a field.
